PMC?

topusfreventsThe Pan-Massachusetts Challenge is the nation’s original fundraising bike-a-thon and today raises more money than any other athletic fundraising event in the country. The PMC is a model of fundraising efficiency. In 2007, the PMC did the unprecedented…donating 100% of every rider-raised dollar directly to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund. The PMC generates nearly 50 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue and is its single largest contributor. Last year, 4,960 PMC cyclists raised and contributed $33 million to the Jimmy Fund, bringing its 28-year contribution to more than $204 million. The cyclists’ 2008 goal is to raise $34 million.  More information can be found at pmc.org.

To participate in the two-day ride, cyclists are required to raise a minimum of $4,000. A Heavy Hitter is any rider who raises $6,700 or more before the fundraising deadline. Almost 30 percent of all PMC cyclists achieve “Heavy Hitter” status. In 2006 and 2007, every member of Team Brielle’s Brigade achieved Heavy Hitter status and in both years the team had the 8th highest “per rider average” of all PMC teams…THANKS TO YOU!
