Riders for the Pan-Mass Challenge

“Gear Up” the Website!

Posted by admin On February - 23 - 2009

riders120x200Hello everyone, and welcome to the new and improved Brielle’s Brigade website.  As of March 1st, 2009, the new site is LIVE.  That said, you may notice that we haven’t plastered all of the tape marks, and capped off the crown molding yet.  We are populating content as rapidly as our limited resources are allowing us, so we want you to come back and check regularly.  There are quite a lot of new features to keep your eyes out for, and over the coming months as we ramp up our training regimen in preparation for the grueling Friday ride from Hillsdale, New York to Sturbridge, Massachusetts, followed by the two-day, 192 mile journey that ends in Provincetown, Massachusetts, we will be updating this site on a regular basis to keep you, our intersted fans, and generous donors, informed of our progress.

In the meantime, please take a look around. If something doesn’t work for you, or just plain looks funny, you can shoot us a note over on the contact page. In the coming weeks, you will see many of the following features available:

  • Regular, periodic updates in the form of news entries, blog pages, and event updates
  • Feature advertisements (see the right side) that showcase our most generous donors
  • The ability to subscribe to RSS news feeds, so you can follow us in your favorite news aggregator!
  • A fund-raising progress thermometer that we’ll be updating regularly as we approach, and hopefully SMASH our goal for 2009
  • The ability for to participate directly on the site, by making comments and feedback on featured and syndicated articles.
  • Twitter status! Yes, we are going Web 2.0! If we do this right, you’ll be able to track us live during ANY of our riding events, because we will be adding our TWEETS in real time, especially during the event!
  • Tag Cloud: As we add more and more content, you will be able to track the most common tags used across ALL of our content, at the bottom of the site main page.
  • Useful Links: We will be adding links to helpful sites to learn more about the content we provide here. As we’ve said before, this is not just about Brielle, it is about eliminating cancer, period.

That’s just a short sampling of what we’ll be doing here over the coming months. Stop in again, who knows, you might even find one of us here ready to chat!

Wow, the new site looks fantastic! I look forward to riding with the team this year. It might even be warm enough for a ride this weekend. Cross your fingers. Tim Stelzer aka: SPECK

Confirming talk of a new Mayor Mobile, I have been surprised by my wife with a new ride. A sexy TREK 4.7. Mayor Mobile2 will make her debut in a couple weeks, once she is trimmed out and I get fitted and the sand is gone and potholes filled. It was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. Can’t wait to take her out.
